Has anyone ever used a date stamp in the ouput name of a reportcaster job? On the task tab where you can give the file aname.
It would be like this WSSU_upload_mmddyy.txt. Today’s file would have been WSSU_upload_030315.txt. Its to feed a third party system and it would be SFTP'dThis message has been edited. Last edited by: <Kathryn Henning>,
I believe I've achieved something similar in the past by using the burst feature. Just define an alpha field with the date pieces you want in there, make that your first BY field NOPRINT and configure your schedule to burst. The burst value is appended to the file name upon delivery. Last time I did something like that was in WF 7.6 so things may have changed a bit since then but the functionality should still remain.

So did you burst it to a single location? we have used dynamic distribution to distribute emails before but have not "burst" with SFTP
This functionality is available now starting in release 8.1.03. While this won't help Geoff today as he is currently on release 7.7.03, I wanted to post this for anyone searching for information on this in the future.
