This may sound like a stupid question.
I understand that if i want to get value of a variable from a table request ,i have to HOLD it first and then READFILE/READ to get the value.
I have a PDF output report which can go multiple pages and i reference that in a compound document.
Is there any way that i can get the page no(or no of pages) from a PDF output.I want to use the page no in the compound document.I know that i am doing PCHOLD and the output is rendered to the browser/client and there is no holding in temp.
You may say that i can calculate no of pages from the data ,but the thing is i cant calculate the no of pages from the data as there are lots of varying factors in the data and i am not sure if the page will overflow or not from the data. This message has been edited. Last edited by: FP Mod Chuck,
I don't know of a native way to do this, but:
If all else fails, you could generate the pdf (non compressed) and attempt to find the page number in the output (difficult), and then regenerate the report with the page number in it.
