We recently switched over to webfocus version 8104 (app studio) and we are having trouble with populating the controls. In the HTML composer, it looks like the drop down boxes are being populated, but when we run the report nothing appears in the drop down box. We are very familiar with app studio and how to populate the drop down boxes, that is not the issue. The issue is during run time and somehow the boxes are not being populated. Any ideas?

What version of IE or browser are you using? We are on IE 8 and it will not load controls, unless we use a higher version.

How are the controls being populated ?

Fex (Dynamic), DB (Default) ?

Have you tried to replicate the call by logging into the http{s}://server{Razzerort}/ibi_apps and try to run the fex or read sample data from the data source ?

I am trying to do both dynamic and default and neither would work. I just went out to the server/ibi_apps and ran the reports from there and it still did not work.. But, of course, any static drop downs will show up.

Have you tried setting the Compatibility View in your IE 10 browser? We instruct our users to do that, and then controls start populating properly.

When you ran the report from ibi_apps, what did it do, did it error ?, can you add -SET &ECHO=ALL; to the fex and see what happening.

If its just zero records, then is it a privilege issue ?

The static ones should work. have you checked for javascript errors on the page ?

Was this ever solved?

I'm having an issue with dropdown lists that are supposed to be filled from a few procedures (listed in the 'Requests & Data sources' panel) and they do get filled in HTML Composer, but in Firefox they remain empty and I see in the console:
quote:
TypeError: loc.search is not a function ib_composer.js:367:106

And indeed, it's not a Function, it's a String!
From ib_composer.js:
var loc=window.location;if(loc.search("blank.html")!=-1){

From the console:
quote:

console.log(window.location)
undefined
Location → ht tp://athena-test/approot/Portal

search:""
