Hi,

I am working with OLAP cubes for showing reports with aggregated data based on few dimensions.

Our report has following columns for display:
PUBLISHER, SITE, PAGE, SLOT, #NUM_OF_ADS.

In our cube PUBLISHER, SITE, PAGE, SLOT AND DATE (DATE should not be displayed) are dimensions, and #NUM_OF_ADS is a measure.

When I am running the report without any WHERE clause, it is working properly, But when I put a where clause on DATE field, it gives me following error: "(FOC11207) ERROR IN THE QUERY: (FOC11306) REQUESTS CAUSING PARTIAL AGGREGATION ARE NOT ALLOWED ".

But if I put DATE as a hidden field after SLOT column, it doesn't show error, but the output is aggregated on DATE also, which we don't want. We want to group the output by PUBLISHER, SITE, PAGE, SLOT fields only.

Can we have a dimension in WHERE clause without having it in report output?

Hi Neelam,

Suggestion from our technicals: A Where clause returning multiple values without a corresponding BY on the field generates a FOC11306 error message.

Please open a case with Customer Support Services, because there is a new setting available in 7.7 that may help you. You may either call at 1-800-736-6130, or access online at InfoResponse.

Prior to release 7.7, when using a field to select several values, you will need to make that field a BY field. In 7.7 and onward, you may omit the BY field when you use the "ENGINE SSAS SET ROLLUP_BY_VISUALTOTALS ON" setting.

Cheers,

Kerry
