We have an interesting request to call a RC schedule from an html page. The big issue we are facing is how to pass parameters to it. We are using RC because we have to email multiple excel compound reports at once. The user population also does not have access to the RC schedule, they want it all in one interface.

With a fex you can just concatenate variables to the end of the url and it passes those variables, with a schedule it does not, it seems to just ignore them.

Anyone ever tried something like this?

Hi Tim,
Why use RC?
Look into EDAMAIL, we use it, works great...

We looked into EDAMAIL and it doesn't allow for multiple attachments in one email, at least as far as we can tell. If that is untrue by all means please share.

I will confirm EDAMAIL does work great for other applications however, used it a lot.

OK, not tried with multiple workbooks, that could be a huge email! Zip them up into 1?
We allow users to create RC schedules, so, never tried outside the IBI module...
Good Luck!

Yea it is 6 or 7 compound excel sheets that's why it's a bit complicated.

We did think of the zip idea but i'm not even sure how we would zip up all the reports into one file on the fly.

Waz,
We sadly do not have restful web services available.

We tried a bunch of different things, global variables, foccache, set statements, none seemed to work.

Our solution was to populate a permanent hold file with the values we need, use that to populate the values needed in the report, run the RC job and then remove the hold file after the RC job is done. I used an ajax call from inside the htmlcomposer to call the schedule from the html page on a button click. Slightly messy but it gets the job done so i'd call it a solution.

Can't always be squeaky clean with WF...
