Hi
How do i draw vertical lines between columns.I am using DB2-developer studio 7.6.4 -report painter- for both HTML and PDF reports.Do i need to write HTML code or Focus code.I searched forum, not getting any fruitful result.

it's not really a line, but it's a great seperator in a report.

works in all formats...

COMPUTE SEP/A1 = ' '; AS ''

And give it's 'data' the same backgroundcolor as the lines or the background of the 'title'.

looks really nices...

Instead of HTML format use DHTML format to make use of the PDF styling.

Prarie's second choice is my favourite one (using BORDER in style sheet).

It not only gives you more control over which columns should or shouldn't have the separating border but also allows you to adjust its style and width as well.

Best of all, it works "fine" for both PDF and HTML although with some limitations; you cannot have a vertical border between 2 columns in a SUBHEAD or SUBFOOT for example (at least not in PDF) but that may be also a limitation with any of the other approaches that have been provided.

Why not just use the LINE syntax in the stylesheet? That's exactly what it is for.

TYPE=REPORT, OBJECT=LINE, POSITION=(x y), DIMENSION=(x y), BORDER=1,$

Also available are BOX, STRING, and IMAGE. If you use hold format DHTML or PDF, the same syntax will work for both.
