Has anyone noticed that Dev Studio displays filenames wrong sometimes in the title-bar of an editor window? It seems to depend on the length of the file-extension...

If I create the following files:

  • test.1
  • test.12
  • test.123
  • test.1234

And open them with the context menu option "Open in Text Editor", the window titles are respectively:

  • te.1
  • tes.12
  • test.123
  • test..1234

I guess this is rarely visible, as most files in Windows happen to have 3-character extensions, but I noticed this issue while editing a few .js and .html files.

Is this a known issue?

In the 77 release it only displays the filename in the window title. And it is the complete flename. No extension visible.

Hmm... I have these options set:

  • IBFS Path (Long name)
  • Show the Tool Name
  • Show the File Extension

Without IBFS path the extension option is grayed out and I just get the (correct) file name, but then I have no way of telling from which server a file I'm editing originates.

With IBFS path and without file extension I still get the wrong filenames, but sans extension of course, like so:

  • te
  • tes
  • test
  • test.

In my 77 it was set to Filename without extension. Which is why it displayed OK. When I set it to IBFS, the same thing happens as in lower releases.
