I have successfully sent Emails from a VM userid using the VM SENDFILE command with the SMTP option. However I need to do 1 of 2 things, first send a report with a record length of 200 as an attachment or second compress the report using style sheets or whatever other technique that Smiler works and send the report in the body of the Email.

If you use ReportCaster, under the Distribution Tab, you can send a report as an inline message in an E-mail. You can create whatever kind of report you like...send it as an attachment or an inline message or both.

Hi All,

Is there any way to configure the SMTP server directly on the Webfocus Developer studio , not through report caster.

My Requirement is like I have a field called Technical contact which appear in every report output we have. If I make this as a link (which is a valid outlook address of a person in our company itself) and if I click on this it is now pointing to the webfocus server machine as below.

servername:2300/approot/frec_code/jey.joh@frx.com (Whereas I was supposed to get the outlook send mail opened with the address given as jey.joh@frx.com.

Any idea how it can be achieved ?

I got the solution too.

We have to give 'mailto:' before the url(eMail address).
