Hello everybody,

I was wondering if anyone knew off the top of their head, a method by which to convert an A20V string format to a YYQ date format. Thanks!

I think there are many things that can be done here.

Not sure if there is a direct conversion, but if you extract the year and the Q number, you can generate the field.

e.g.
TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT
COMPUTE TXT/A20V = '2015 Q1' ;
COMPUTE YR/A4 = EDIT(TXT,'9999') ;
COMPUTE QT/A1 = EDIT(TXT,'$$$$$$9') ;
COMPUTE I6YYM/I6YYM = EDIT(YR) * 100 + (EDIT(QT) * 3) ;
COMPUTE YYM/YYM = I6YYM ;
COMPUTE YYQ/YYQ = YYM ;
COUNTRY

END
