RBretrieving data please wait
I have few reports that take a while to run. I need to display a message that says
"retrieving data... please wait..." before the data gets displayed so that the user would know that the report is running.
How can I achieve this with in HTML layout painter?

mgrackinRB,
I'm not sure how to do this in HTML Painter but here is a thread on Focal Point that discusses techniques on how to do this:

<MLerner>This can be accomplished easily if you are displaying your report in a frame. Add an onmousedown event to the submit button. The function script would look similar to
//Begin function button1_onmousedown
function button1_onmousedown(ctrl) {
document.getElementById('iframe1').src="/approot/SESSION/wait.htm"
}
//End function button1_onmousedown
This will change the frame output to the wait.htm page while the report is executing.

I finally get my page display a PROCESSING bar and a alert (using Javascript).
If you still have the issue of informing a message to user, such as the job is in process, please wait (etc), please let me know and I can share my method with you.
