Hi,

We use the webservice adapter to call an external webservice which creates an image (jpg) based on parameters we pass on through the webservice. The webservice returns an url (http) which we use in our web application to present the image.

We now have a request from a customer who wants the same images included in pdf documents (scheduled by ReportCaster).

Is there a way within Webfocus (or by OS calls - Windows) to use the returned http url to download the image and store on the reporting server to be used in the pdf?
It is not an option to use the url itself in the pdf, due to security reasons and a small retention period of the images.

Martin.

The PDF is created on the reporting server as a data stream and therefore the image is embedded. So the URL would be unknown to the viewer. Also, after the expiry of the image, it would be irrelevant that the original was no longer available, due to the image being part of the data stream.

Obviously this would not be true for HTML output.
