I've been unable to get my report heading and subheadings to be centered across the columns within my report. Has anyone been able to get this to work?

I assume you are using HEADING CENTER.
eg
Table file car
Heading Center
...etc..

But you might also try setting
the output format to HTMLCSS.

Using HTMLCSS does seem to improve things here. Is there any way to find out EXACTLY what this command does? Does the issuing of this SET command mean that there is a .css file that is consulted somewhere? Any idea what its name might be?

Thanks for any insight.

oops--I just noticed that this query was for Excel headings, not headings in an html report.

I'd still like to know how HTMLCSS operates though.

Try adding this code at the bottom of your report:

ON TABLE SET HTMLCSS ON
ON TABLE SET STYLE *
TYPE=HEADING,LINE=1,COLSPAN=8,JUSTIFY=CENTER,$
TYPE=HEADING,LINE=2,COLSPAN=8,JUSTIFY=CENTER,$
ENDSTYLE

It will only center the first two lines of your heading across the first 8 columns and all the other headings will not be effected.
