We are in the process of doing a proof of concept to convert our IBM/mainframe reporting server to a linux reporting server. And one of the issues we face is a way to do nightly updates to capture any database changes in our teradata and oracle tables. We do this in a batch job on the mainframe at this time and were wondering how we can reproduce this process in linux?

Exactly what is it that is updated in your nightly batch? We are using Linux as a reporting server. We have Win... for our production reporting server.

leah we are recreating all the masters that are on our teradata platform(some 8000 mfd's) to keep them current with the columns in the tables. In our currenmt mvs/scctl environment we can use jcl and a couple of cobol jobs to maintain our mfd libraries.

Mark,

Our systems people created a stored procedure to copy the mfd's from the mainframe library, name them as needed and push them with ftp to the server on our windows box. I'm sure it could be adapted, we had a unique need to do some renaming in our 4.3.6 environment. Let me know if you would like to have the contact name of the person in Lincoln.
