Business Intelligence Report Developer
The University of Nebraska at Omaha is seeking a Business Intelligence WebFOCUS report developer to join our Business Intelligence (BI) team within the Information Services department. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a thriving Higher Education campus in Nebraska's largest city, Omaha.
As a member of Information Services (IS), this position will perform complex analysis/design, programming, and testing required to develop, maintain/enhance, implement and support enterprise level Business Intelligence reporting solutions and UNO strategic goals. This position works on a team of developers, and collaborates with departments across the University, to create dynamic dashboards and reporting applications used to make key data driven decisions. Works effectively with end users, project managers and University development teams.
Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for interactions with end users, project managers and Business Intelligence development teams to gather/analyze requirements and create technical designs used to develop detailed project plans in support of enterprise BI development and support.
Develops WebFOCUS programming code based on requirement/design plans, tests, implements and supports enterprise BI projects.
Develop current and future enterprise BI strategies for relevant industry leading platforms to streamline business processes and reduce ongoing costs. Provides enterprise BI leadership.
Prepares technical documentation, business process flows and presentations for enterprise projects.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
Demonstrated experience in industry current Business Intelligence report development, including skills building reporting dashboards and applications.
Ability to write clearly, concisely, and grammatically correct.
Working well with others in a project team setting. This includes good communication skills for working with our constituencies and understanding the value of shared accomplishments.
Self-initiative by accomplishing creative groundbreaking ability in past positions.
Aptitude in the area for which they are being considered (current skills are important, but the ability and personal desire to learn new skills is more important).
The desire for association with higher education due to its operating culture, a desire to teach, or a desire to further their formal education.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field; an appropriate combination of related education or experience in enterprise software development and system support, systems analysis and design maybe substituted.
Preferred Skills:
WebFOCUS, Data Visualization, Javascript, XML, Web Services, HTML/CSS, SQL 99. PeopleSoft HR and/or Campus Solutions reporting experience is helpful.
