The BI WebFOCUS developer position will be a member of the Clinical Decision Support team that supports an IBI WebFOCUS environment that provides clinical, operational, and financial reporting. The BI technical environment also includes Microsoft’s Amalga UIS application for Healthcare which is built on a Microsoft technology stack. Application data sources to the BI environment include Cerner’s Clinical Information System, GE’s Patient Accounting system, and an Oracle ERP suite (HR, Finance, and Supply Chain).
This position supports the effective business, patient management, and clinical operations of the Medical Center by ensuring a reliable production environment, developing and supporting installation, enhancing applications, and providing project management and user support.
1. Develop, maintain, and enhance WebFOCUS based reports and applications to meet user business, clinical, and government requirements.
2. Develop new computer programs to meet user business requirements.
3. Provide user support to resolve and/or coordinate resolution of issues.
4. Perform functional analysis and/or re-engineer a process design.
5. Ensure the reliable operation of the production environment(s) and application(s).
This position requires a minimum of seven years' experience working with Information Builders’ WebFOCUS product; must have extensive application development experience with the WebFOCUS TABLE, MODIFY, GRAPH, and Dialogue Manager programming languages; must have significant experience with optimizing WebFOCUS queries for relational databases and creating FOCUS synonyms; must have experience creating dashboards/launch pages in Developer Studio and sufficient knowledge of HTML and JavaScript to maintain and replicate such HTML pages; must be comfortable scheduling tasks in ReportCaster; experience with InfoAssist is a plus; must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong analytical ability, the ability to be flexible and to manage multiple tasks. A Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent is required for this position.
Applicant needs to have good interpersonal and communication skills, be a self-starter, flexible and able to multi-task in a dynamically changing environment without constant supervisory oversight. Prior healthcare, business intelligence experience is preferred but not necessary.
