Major financial institution offers a fulltime opportunity for a mid-level application developer with strong programming skills to develop and maintain transactional and reporting systems for several businesses. The individual will be involved in all aspects of software development from definition of business requirements to design, development and deployment. They will also provide support for several critical systems by answering questions about application functions, analyzing issues and remediating code to address issues. The individual will work with senior application developers who will assist in broadening their technical skills and knowledge. Additionally, the individual will be exposed to multiple Bank businesses and have an opportunity to learn more from a systems and technical perspective.
Responsibilities:
Develop new applications, apply software changes to enhance applications, and provide production support for several Bank businesses with Statistics being the primary focus business.
Develop test scripts and execute a full range of tests including unit, systems, regression, and security tests.
Participate in translating the business model and user requirements into use cases and software specifications.
Write various types of documentation including design documents, specifications, technical and user guides, etc.
Requirements:
Experience developing systems with WebFocus reporting components and developing reports to render data into MS Excel, HTML and PDF, a must.
Experience with and knowledge of WebFOCUS security administration and integration with LDAP, a must.
Experience with HTML, JSP, Javascript and CSS.
Experience with SQL Server and/or Oracle.
Working knowledge of Windows
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Science or equivalent education and/or work experience.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong customer service skills and the ability to handle multiple service requests.
Familiarity with Java and/or J2EE technologies.
Familiarity with HTTP, HTTPS, and TCP/IP.
Familiarity with Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. Knowledge of macros.
Familiarity with FISMA and Section 508 Standards.
Familiarity with the Technology Project standards and Capability Maturity Model (CMM).
