We are using iWay Service Manger 6.0.1. We are using the HIPAASplitterPreParser to translate an inbound HIPAA EDI file to XML. Sometimes we receive invalid files, however, and the HIPAASplitterPreParser outputs an XML error message. Is there any way to capture the original file EDI file at this point in the channel, so we can write it out a folder for review?

Hi Chuck,

From our iWay folks: please use the stock channel, it contain a validation report. The validation report contains the input edi, output xml and errors from the log, if there are any. This is all documented in the iWay manual.

The "stock channel" has the preparser in the Inlet, just like the channel we have setup. The preparser uses an EBIX to translate the EDI file to XML, but when it can't recognize the incoming file as a valid EDI file it throws an error and skips over the default route in the channel. The default route is where the validation report is produced, and since the route gets skipped when the preparser throws an error, the validation report is never created. I will check with support, as you suggested.
