I'm trying to create a synonym based on uploading a spreadsheet. I open the file, click the tab I want, and then get the following error:
(FOC1544) Syntax error: %1
I then went back and tried to view the data using the "Show" under the display, and then get another error:
"(FOC1544) Syntax error: SYNONYM _edatemp/data FOR C:\ibi\srv81\dm\edatemp\foccache\ht000325020\upload\ma (FOC205) THE DESCRIPTION CANNOT BE FOUND FOR FILE NAMED: _EDATEMP/DATA BYPASSING TO END OF COMMAND "
I haven't the faintest what is going on. I used the default options. Any thoughts? This message has been edited. Last edited by: FP Mod Chuck,

can you attach the sample spreadsheet file that you are trying to load.
following are my recommendations which you have to check in the "preparation options" menu in the ribbon. also attached screenshot 1. field delimiter. 2. field enclosure. 3. header row. 4. scan all rows(optional)
finally you can try to convert the format to csv and see if that works.
