We have been receiving a lot of questions about our B2B capabilities, including certifications and compliance.
Last week we completed our certification with
UCCnet, a subsidiary of the Uniform Code Council -- the folks who do bar codes on all consumer products -- for supporting their GLOBALregistry, a B2B registry that helps over 750 different companies streamline their supply chains.
http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/030821/215070_1.html That capability requires our ability to support another B2B standard,
AS2. AS2 provides the secure, reliable, non-repudiable interactions of EDI, but uses HTTP and therefore doesn't require the expense of Value-Added Networks (VANs) or private networks. AS2 is certified by the Drummond Group, and we have passed all technical certifications for that. We are still performing interoperability testing, but that certification should be coming out almost immediately. We have already certified with
AS1, which is the same thing but uses SMTP email instead of HTTP.
We also provide
ebXML (e-business XML) capabilities, which includes a registry and messaging. Yes, secure, reliable, non-repudiable messaging, just like VANs give, but this time using Web services (SOAP with attachments) instead of EDI formats. This is popular internationally, and with government agencies especially.
To handle the various forms of
EDI that each industry has, we have a variety of adapters that will provide document validation and transformation (turning EDI into XML), including
SWIFT,
HIPAA, and
HL7, among others. These, along with general-purpose
ASC X12 and
EDIFACT support, make it easier to integrate EDI formats into XML to be incorporated into standard tools and processes.
The products section of our web site is being restructured to show off these capabilities, and you'll be able to find out more details by the middle of September. Meanwhile, if you want more detail, email us at info@iwaysoftware.com.
