Rodrigo,

Do you mean ETL 5.3.2, which is the current production version, or 3.2, which is no longer officially supported?

I think we'd need to understand more of what you're trying to accomplish before we could help you. Is this Excel spreadsheet on the Linux box? Is it on a Windows box, with ODBC available from Windows, but you can't configure ODBC to talk to it from Linux? Perhaps there's something we could do using a JDBC / ODBC bridge?

I suggest that you call the hotline to get a more detailed answer, but it seems that Data Migrator should be able to read the file -- although perhaps not if it's on the Linux box itself.

We can use an Excel adapter within iWay Adapter Manager, and it's not dependent on ODBC; however, it's a separately licensed product with a different set of design principles, and so probably isn't what you're looking for.

Regards,
Jake

Hi Jake,

Thanks for your answer.
I mean ETL 5.3.2 the current production version, The excel files and the ETL are in a linux box.

How can I do to read those files?

Because I can't configure and ODBC there.

Rodrigo.

Rodrigo,

It's a kludge, but you could put the Excel spreadsheets on a Windows box and configure ODBC to read from them; then configure an ODBC / JDBC bridge to connect from Linux to the Windows machine, and read the JDBC source from the Linux box.

Reading Excel directly on the Linux box is only possible with our Excel adapter with iWay Adapter Manager (formerly iXTE). It's not based on database-style integration, but on document integration, so it doesn't matter where the Excel spreadsheet is located -- it will parse it directly, with no ODBC step. But, as I said, that's a separately licensed product.

Please do call the Hotline, they may have other ideas.

Regards,
Jake
