How in PMF is a dimension linked to time? Example: I have a hierarchal product dimension that is structured as Department, Class, and Style. Style ‘X’ was in class ‘B’, but as of July 2009 it is now in class ‘A’. In the product dimension loads I don’t see any reference to time, so how does PMF know the time of this switch? Is it recorded on the day the data is loaded into PMF?

Dimensions are not interlinked. Measures are linked to the dimensions. If a dim changes, you can make several choices. Have a look at other answers to similar questions about this on the forum.
If there is measure data for a particular dimension intersection - e.g., say you have Location with a hierarchy Country \ Region \ State \ Office and you have a City called Central that's in Illinois. Then the central office moves to Michigan in Sept 2009. What do you want? Do you want metrics for the central office to show up in Michigan for past history until the future, or do you want them split so they appear in Illinois until Sept 2009 then they appear in Michigan? You can choose either option.
