I have prefix code that executes normally outside of PMF, but returns the error screen when the Preview button is clicked.

A view/source of the error screen doesn't reveal any code or (FOC errors... most of the time... despite my -SET &ECHO=ALL;, SET MSG=ON, and a variety of -TYPE statements in the procedure mentioned in the prefix code.

how can i consistently get my debugging techniques to show in the view/source of this error screen:

Error Summary: Program error, S02_LP_K_DM
Trace Message: ERROR in listfields-S00. There was a FOCUS error (1055 while running the Prefix code

Debugging custom routines.

It won't work to issue -SET to &ECHO in your code. By design, we issue a -SET to &ECHO that will override it. Use the Application Tracing option in PMF Settings to turn ECHO to ON or ALL. That's how you get &ECHO set.

Try this and then do a view source on the error to examine what's going on.

If you can't figger it after that, why not upload your code snippet. Maybe the answer will jump out at us.

If your code is creating temporary HOLD files, make sure you use options to persist the HOLD files and the resulting Master files. The loaders use Maintain currently, and that means we EXEC out to FOCUS, so there's no guarantee your HOLDs will be there as you might be assuming.
