Hi,

We want to give the possibility to our analyst to build report from "Analysis Designer".

In our PMF, we have some "analytics" measures without target, so they are not in our strategy map. The problem is that "Analysis Designer" only show up measures that was affected to a strategy map. So, our analyst cannot see all the measure actually in PMF.

Can we give them the possibility to see all the measures without "file tunning" on "Analysis Designer" ?

We're just asking, because less file tunning we have, better is for the process of upgrading release..

For the moment our security mode is :
-Scorecard : S
-Acces : G

Thanks,

PMF represents a way to model BI metrics. By design, any Measures to be reported in PMF must be connected to this model. That means they must be:

* Linked to an Objective on at least one Scorecard and weighted.
* The Objective linked to a Perspective on at least one Scorecard and weighted (via the Strategy Map).

So attaching a Measure to a Scorecard is critical to the visibility of Metrics in this model. Any Measure not tied to a Scorecard is hidden. Scorecards allow Measures to be linked to users and to the security model. They are the key to all of PMF.

Suggestion: Create a Scorecard just for these Measures that you want to report, you can call it "Other Metrics" or whatever you want. Link them to a single objective, such as "Metrics," and a single Perspective, such as "Metrics," weight it all up, and allow some or all of your users access to see that Scorecard. You can then report on them. Make sure only to display "Actual/Value" since there won't be a Percent Reached or other component possible.

Hope this helps.

Hi Carlos,

A temporary solution might be to create an objective for a scorecard but keep it "unlinked". By not placing this on the strategy map it will keep the scorecard weighting for this at zero and will not affect the overall scorecard.

After doing this the measure will now show up on measure level reports. Your analyst will now be able to view this via the analysis designer to slice and dice.

Note: The best long term solution is to follow Bob's expert advice.

Cheers,
Mike

Thanks,

It's exactly what we do. I never thing about declaring an objective but not placing it in the strategy map, but this is the solution !

Thank you.
