The WebFOCUS PMF/PMM 4.2.1 service pack includes the latest fixes and updates to WebFOCUS PMF and PMM.

Issues addressed in the service pack include:

  • Alert Wizard: Better handling of error situations when there are problems with ReportCaster. Note that the Alert Wizard still cannot recover if ReportCaster is not running or did not start correctly in your WebFOCUS installation.

  • Variables passed through on Tree reports: PMF/PMM now allows Time and other Dimension values to be passed through from the Tree based reports (e.g., Measures - Previous v. Current, Measures - Rolling 5 Periods, Objectives - Previous v. Current) to all drilldowns.

  • Multi-drill limitations removed for Internet Explorer: A limitation in Internet Explorer's JavaScript interpreter prevented you from seeing Dimension Drilldown menus when you had a lot of Dimensions defined for your measures. A good workaround for the limitation has now been built into PMF/PMM. You should now be able to see Dimension drill menus regardless of how many Dimensions you have defined for your measures.

  • Time drilldowns now respect Time Ranges automatically. When a Time Range is applied to a view, the available time units listed now show only Time values within that range. If a value is high-level so that it is possible for a Time Range to be smaller than the time unit shown, high-level time value rollups will only represent a portion of measure data that falls within the Time Range. Example: If the current month is Month 4, and you are displaying YTD, the Year level rollup includes only data from Month 1 to Month 4; if you then drill down to the Quarter level rollup, you will notice that Q1 and Q2 are included in the rollup, but only Month 4 (first month of Q2) will be included in the Q2 rollup, as you would expect.

  • User-entered measures: Zero values entered are now stored as zeroes. Previously they were treated as null data. If desired, it is still possible to null out user-entered data by blanking out values via the entry panel.

  • CDN setting supported: If you have Continental Decimal Notation active on your WebFOCUS server, PMF/PMM previously would throw Dialogue Manager errors when running Measure loads. This issue is fixed in 4.2.1.

Note: As of 4.2.1, the PMF/PMM installer will automatically upgrade PMF/PMM to the latest version without requiring a manual uninstall as was required in previous releases. You can simply re-run the PMF/PMM installer to upgrade your installation. If you have PMF/PMM installed in a multi-tier configuration, please remember to run the installation separately for your Web server and WebFOCUS server boxes.
