Is there a way (now or in future release) to quickly change dimension values in PMF, without needing to reload the associated metrics? We want to change some of the dimension values in one of the existing "demo" marts to match geography and organization structure for our company. But we don’t want to reload any of the metrics after any dimension value changes. Let me know what options (if any) we have.
Our response:
Yes, there is a documented feature that lets you changed standing Dim values for all existing levels. Note that you can’t change the dim structure, or delete anything, only edit the values.
You can also manually create and edit dimensions and link these to user entered measures, but that’s a different capability more for doing modeling dimensions in front of a customer.
Version 5.2.2 and higher only.
For more information see "Directly Editing Existing Loaded Dimension Values" on page 29 of the PMF 5.2.2 New Features doc, shipped with PMF.
