We'll work to give you a better error message. This one is not informative enough. Thanks Seth!

The same error number 1406, but with a "better error message":

An error occurred during processing:
Error S07_B in pmf_resynch - Error S02_B in pmf_rdbms_check_database. Database/MFD inconsistency for table: PM_DIM01_DISPLAY, FOCERRNUM: 1406
Please contact your PMF Administrator

This happens during a database / metadata sync. (after a db switch). This does not appear to be a disconnection to the db, but rather a mischatch of some sort. How can this be fixed?

This is a problem with an inconsistency in the Time DImension (DIM01). My guess is you are switching between a database with custom time configured and one with 3-level Time autogen and resync is getting confused.

We recommend you contact customer support. If you can take snapshots of the two DBs, that would make it simpler to figure out how to advise you further.

Bob, my problem has been resolved. Thank you for the quick reply and the very useful information. I was able to synchronize the database and its metadata by duplicating the app files that supported the switched db. Restarting the report server would then reconnect/resync them without further issue.
