As of December 1, 2020, Focal Point is retired and repurposed as a reference repository. We value the wealth of knowledge that's been shared here over the years. You'll continue to have access to this treasure trove of knowledge, for search purposes only.

Is there a more detailed reference source for explaining the usage of the system settings in the Manage tab? The user guide gives a brief definition of the options, but I am looking to learn more about each setting and what might work best for us.
Settings are described declaratively in the reference section on PMF settings. When their use is more involved, settings are also described in the sections that pertain to the tasks involved.
For example, there's a section on how to apply and use the security modes for Row Level and Scorecards in the Tips section at the back of the documentation under the topic of "understanding PMF security modes" (more "how to" information has been introduced in the latest 5.1.1 documentation set). So looking at it in terms of the panel itself, there's the reference section. But if you want to do a specific task, for example, have PMF attach dimension security to scorecards and to users via scorecards, instead of directly to users, you'd consult the Tips section about dimensional security, which is its own dedicated section. Stuffing all that detail into the reference would have just been confusing. Look for the task you want to perform; and treat the table of contents as a helper to find your tasks.
Hope this helps.
thanks
