PMF 5.1.1
We have user ids in our AD and MR with over 12 characters. When we sync PMF with MR using the sync button in Management/Owners, these user ids get created but truncated to 12 chars.

Will these users be able to log in to PMF?

Yes; in V5 PMF only sees the first 12 characters and if they match, the user is authorized. This only poses a problem if there are two separate PMF users with user IDs that are the same for the first 12 characters.

We do intend to expand this in the future. So far it's not posed a problem for anyone, but nonetheless we do want to be proactive.

I recon they will.

Just created a test Analytical user belonging to the analyst group in MRE with id:
"longerthantwelve"

Logged into PMF as pmfadmin, synced PMF with MRE and got the same behaviour, user id got truncated to:
"longerthantw"

Then logged into PMF with user id:
"longerthantwelve"
and received the Today and Analytics tabs.

Guess you could have tested that too

Thank you. We are ok if the user will be able to log in to PMF with 12 chars id, even it is different from the MRE and AD.

We couldn't test the scenario because the WF environment uses external AD and I have no access to add users to AD.

No problem, I just wanted to confirm by running a test for myself. Important note, the users do not have to truncate their login id's (in the case where a login id is longer than 12 characters).
