marnixRposted in wrong part of forum
joined this forum a few hours ago and posted my first thread in
Events, Job Postings, Miscellaneous Announcements which on reflection turned out to be the wrong one
after some browsing around i realised that, since quite a bit of the content is me trying to get to grips with the workings of the forum and asking about whether certain facilities are available, it would have been better placed under Rules, Regulations and FAQs
i know that cross-posting in other forums is frowned upon, but don't know yet how things work in this forum - do i PM an admin to move it, or shall i leave it where it is + put it down to experience (keeping in mind that i wouldn't mind some clarification on the points i've raised)

LeahYou can always use the edit or delete option in the lower right area to remove the post or change it. I would say as to the rest of the wanderings, we are only human and as conversations go the original topic header just sticks. As before, welcome aboard and forgive us our shortcomings.

thanks for the advice - however, i'm not in favour of deleting posts as it can make it rather hard to follow a thread when there's gaps
also, if i deleted the first post that would delete the whole thread and i prefer not to do that when people have already replied to it
i suppose it can't hurt too much where it is now - it's just that most forums give administrators and moderators the option to move threads quite easily if they deem it better suited elsewhere
maybe that's why all the Focus / WebFocus stuff is now all one big blob - if people had seen from the start that their thread was moved to the appropriate part of the forum, they might have got the message by now and posted in the appropriate sections
