I'm wondering when the last time other services were reviewed for the purpose of hosting the Focal Point forums. It would seem to me that there must be plenty out there that are more web 2.0-like that support things like rich-text editing, customizable view options, RSS feeds, etc.

Is there anything in the works?

FYI - I just did a cursory Google search for "Open Source User Forum" and there appear to be several good choices.

Ressurecting this post from 10 years ago... Has there been any more consideration to updating the forums to a more modern format with more modern features? I know that when Kathleen was still with IBI there was some testing on a new format. Did that option leave with her?
