We are migrating from WIN NT to WIN XP. We have 436 Developer studio.
Are there any compatibility issues with the same? I have seen that, in 436 developer studio (with WIN NT), one will get 4 folders (html forms, maintain, synonyms, procedures) created under any new application. But in WIN XP, with 436 Developer studio, i don't see those folders created.
Are there any other compatibility issues like the same? If anyone has already tried out, such type of migration from WIN NT to WIN XP, please share your knowlege.
WinXP is really strict about security in every way you can imagine. You're probably not getting access to the IBI path in WinXP. Check to make sure the user you're logging on as has full access to the \ibi\apps directory.
Also, you might want to check the techsupport site to see about what was found testing 4.3.6 devstudio on xp and the level of support it offers.
gee Viswa, i have WinXP and 436 dev studio, ( i just wont let go of it..i like persistence), and i see all 4 of those folders. Maybe your install of devstudio was messed up somehow. Is a re-install an option?
