[CLOSED]Using STRIP
I have an email address and I really only need the part up until the @....so for emails of john.smith@eagles.csc.edu I only want the john.smith........How and where in my report do I put the STRIP command and is this even the right command to use?

STRIP would probably not be the best function, as it requires searching for a specific character string, which would vary depending upon the record. I would use the GETTOK function, using the @ as the delimiter.

Define a new field using the GETTOK function as documented in the help file and manuals, and reference the field that contains your email addresses.
