I need to create reports on data which is present in excel file. The data in the excel file is supposed to change. This excel file is placed on a server which the users will update. Could anybody suggest how to go about creating reoprts in this scenario. I am using version 764.

You need to interface with excel using odbc connections. Once you have set that up and can connect and read from your sheet(s), then you can add the connection to the list of connections for the reporting server. This connection can then be used to firstly create your master and access file and secondly create your reports against the excel file. The first row in your sheet should contain the fieldnames to be used by webfocus, the range of cells to read in the worksheet should be defined to be able to name your master file and retrieve the records. And, last but not least, the excel file can not be opened by anyone at the time of reading it.
Hope this helps ...

On the server workstation: Start - Programs - Administrative tools - Data sources (ODBC) Or: Start - settings - Control Panel - Administrative tools - Data Sources (ODBC). Once in the tol: select system DSN, click Add, select the appropriate driver and configure it.
