I am using an ACROSS in a report that has a few other fields/columns before it. There are some circumstances in which one or more rows may not have a value in any of the ACROSS columns but that row still needs to be in there. When this happens an extra ACROSS column is created with a 0 column title and no data.
Is there a way to get rid of that extra ACROSS column?

I ran across this just a few days ago. There is a SET option for that: SET HIDENULLACRS = ON
WebFOCUS 8.1.03, Windows 7-64/2008-64, IBM DB2/400, Oracle 11g & RDB, MS SQL-Server 2005, SAP, PostgreSQL 11, Output: HTML, PDF, Excel 2010 : Member of User Group Benelux :
Thanks! I had never heard of HIDENULLACRS before. It seems that should be the perfect fix but I am still getting those empty across columns even when using it. Do you know if there is another set that needs to go along with it? I couldn't find anything in the documentation. Here is the code I am using.
-SET HIDENULLACRS = ON;
TABLE FILE GIFTS SUM PLEDGE_PAYMENTS OUTRIGHT_GIFTS BY NAME BY PLEDGE_AMOUNT ACROSS YEAR ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT EXL2K END -RUN
Remove the - and ; around the SET. It's a FOCUS statement, not a Dialog Manager statement:
SET HIDENULLACRS = ON
TABLE FILE GIFTS
SUM PLEDGE_PAYMENTS
OUTRIGHT_GIFTS
BY NAME
BY PLEDGE_AMOUNT
ACROSS YEAR
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT EXL2K
END
-RUN
