We have WebFocus Client running in SUN OS 5.8 Application Server is WAS 5.1
Reportcaster,EDA server also in same machine.
Repository is Oracle 8i.

When we run a simple fex with amper variables, we get a page with no text boxes to enter values for parameters. But in 532 version we used to get text boxes for those variables.

Is any one facing the same issue?

But when we run the sample html given by IBI, we get the prompt page properly. But that is a HTML page in which they send the actual fex itself as a parameter to the server using CDATA Function.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Do you have -DEFAULT values in you fex? If so, try taking them out and see what you get. OR you can turn on the prompt for parameters property on the fex.
I think I've gone at least two dozen rounds with tech support on this one and it boils down to the fact that autoprompting has change significantly between 5.3x and 7.x. It has to do with the internal variables IBIF_wfdescribe and IBIMB_prompting (yup, there are two of them now - one for MRE and one for self-service. And there are three values XMLRUN,XMLPROMPT, and OFF for each). On top of that, there are different behaviors for ReportCaster and Deferred Reports. So if you use all of those and are terribly confused, you're right where I am!
I have a matrix which one of our local tech reps worked up for me the kind of describes the behavior for each of these settings. It's in excel so I don't know how to post it on the forum, but I can send it if you email me a request.
