There are a lot of things you can "turn on" and "turn off" in the view builder, but it's understandable that the templates provided don't meet everyone's needs. In Chapter 7 of the WebFOCUS Managed Reporting Adiminstrator's Guide, there is a section about creating custom templates. I think this is what you are looking for. If you can get in touch with an SE from your local branch, they can probably tell you how to do this, as they do it frequently for presentations to prospective customers. When I was an SE, we had another SE in the office who did this a lot. (Sorry, I never got much into the dashboard stuff back then so I can't help you more.) I don't know which branch you would belong to or I might be able to provide a contact.
Regards,
Darin
