Hi, i want to create a Hierarchy report. the requirement is :- I need to find out who is the VP for any employee.
For every emplyee we have employee class which corresponds to a certain position. in all we have 5 different clases. Eg. EMP1 is at class A and reports to EMP2 EMP2 is at class B and reprots to EMP3 EMP3 is at class C and reports to EMP4 EMP4 is at class D and is a VP so my o/p shoud be EMP1's VP is EMP4 I have a column in my TBL which tell me who that EMP is reporting to(reporting manager).
one way i thought was to capture all the employee ID's and read it one by one in a loop till i dont hit VP, but its not working. any ideas how can i do this.
I would use the power of FML for this. Create a master with parent and child fields There are several items here on FP that explain you how this can be done.
