We have a Webfocus application that uses html screens to launch webfocus reports via cgi. Recently we have moved our web server to an AIX 5.2 machine running IBM's IHS http server version 2.047.
In both cases the Webfocus report server is version 5.2.1 running on Windows 2000.
Does anyone have an idea as to why the server response would be so slow on the AIX configuration? Does the UNIX version of the Webfocus CGI program work differently than the Windows version?
Thanks, Ron

Hi Ron, Before moving to 5.3, we used to have problems with CGI timeouts especially on huge query reports, either Windows or OpenVMS platform both on IIS webserver. After we introduced an Application server and moved to servlet (5.3 with New Atlanta and Tomcat on 7.10 - test environment) processing time was reduced dramatically.
From IBI's customer support: "Effective with WebFOCUS Version 5 Release 4, the WebFOCUS CGI/ISAPI options will no longer support Managed Reporting. Additionally, support for the Managed Reporting HTML User Interface is discontinued because it was dependent on the CGI/ISAPI implementation. Information Builders is making these decisions in order to focus our Managed Reporting development efforts on the J2EE and Web Services platforms. With this new strategy, we will be able to bring new features to market faster and with higher quality. "
...heads up on mre environment.
