Hi, I have a maintain screen in which there is a dropdown box which contains the alpanumeric values based on which data is populated in Grid table which is updatable.In the same screen there is a "Generate Report " button which will generate a report in xls fromat based on the value in dropdown box.So, I need to call a fex file when user press "Generate Report" button and passes the parameter which will contain the value in the dropdown.Can anybody tell me how to achieve this in Maintain?
Thanks in advance.This message has been edited. Last edited by: Kerry,
There are two easy ways to kick off a report from a Maintain procedure. The first is with JavaScript: // JavaScript idEditBox1_val = document.getElementById(“EditBox1”).value nameEditBox1_val = document.getElementByName(“EditBox1”).value url=”http://localhost:8080/ibi_apps/WFServlet?IBIF_ex=Rep1” + “&var1=” + idEditBox1_val + “&var2=” + nameEditBox1_val; window.open(url); }
Here Rep1 is the report and var1 and var2 are passed
and the second is with Maintain code: EXEC rep1 From var1 var2
The question may be how to get the values into the parameter fields. In either case, you can copy any selection from the drop down into an invisible field on the form, and pass it. If you are using JavaScript you may just be able to grab the value off the drop down and pass it.
