As of December 1, 2020, Focal Point is retired and repurposed as a reference repository. We value the wealth of knowledge that's been shared here over the years. You'll continue to have access to this treasure trove of knowledge, for search purposes only.

I created reports that display valuable info from JDE.
I would like to allow the user to click a data point and allow them to enter comments, so later the next time the report is ran, a column showing the user input notes will be displayed.
build you focus database write a report that reads that database write a drilldown on one of the fields have the drilldown run a 2nd fex that produces and htmlform that contains a dataentry form have the Submit button on that form run a 3rd fex that performs a MODIFY with the &variables collected by the form and that MODIFY updates the original focus database, and then that same fex reproduces the initial report (fex #1) containing the updated data entered. ok?

Daren, If you are going to use a FOCUS database to allow multiple user to enter comments, you may need a license for the WebFOCUS DBMS Server also known as the FOCUS Sink Machine or SU.
