When I do a MODIFY to a regular HOLD file I get the desired results but when I MODIFY the results of a SQL Passthru (which I always thought is held to SQLOUT since we do a TABLE off of SQLOUT), I don't get the results.
In order for me to get it to work, I hold all the contents of the SQLOUT to a file that I name and then I MODIFY that held file.
Is this really the only way to do it or am I doing something wrong? This message has been edited. Last edited by: ChannyS,
If you look at how data migrator does this, then you will see that it basically is the same as how you do it. Data Migrator does it like:
SQL PREPARE SQLIN FROM
SELECT
...
END
SQL EXECUTE SQLIN;
TABLE ON TABLE HOLD AS
SQLIN
FORMAT INTERNAL
END
MODIFY FILE somefile
FIXFORM FROM SQLIN ALIAS PROPAGATE
...
DATA VIA SQLGET
END
So, you're doing it quite well.
Hope this helps...
