I'm looking for ideas/suggestions on how to create a "front end page" for users to add/modify entries in our report library tables. To be honest, I have no idea what I'm doing. A dba is going to write an oracle stored procedure for me to call in order to update the tables. I have no idea how I'm going to create a search function and provide the update capability. I've never written anything like this before. I know I'm probably being too vague but I'm not sure what else to write yet. I'm just getting started on it. Any input at all will be extremely helpful! This message has been edited. Last edited by: Kerry,
Selena, I would recommend that you NOT use your DBA and his/her stored procedure. If the table structures change in a future release, then you will have to redo your work. I would recommend that you build JSPs that use the RC Java API. You can then use a HTML/JavaScript front end that call JSPs to update/delete/report whatever. I've built a few custom interfaces for Library, and if I was doing another, this would be the model that I would use.
