When i run a job in the report caster it is running the same job 2 times with an interval of 1 min(approx).This is done by the report caster by itself only , due to which i get the same report outputs in 2 seperate notification mails.

Right now my burst options are set to:
HTML Format

and i am sending notifications (brief & Detail)to diff e-mail id's respectively.

What could be the reason for the RC to behave in this manner??

How are you running the job? Are you opening it up and looking at it first, then closing it and running it? If so...by opening it and closing it unfortunelty that makes it run(why..we don't know). So not realizing it you are running it twice.
