Hi I am trying to use the &LINES command and it's returning 0 even though it's supposed to return 5 . Following is the piece of code I am trying to execute
---Begin
TABLE FILE ICMS_VW_CASE_UPDATED_AFTER_SARFILING WHERE ( LASTTOUCHEDDATE GT MOSTRECENTFILEDDATE ) AND ( LAST_TOUCH_DATE GE BeginDate ) AND ( LAST_TOUCH_DATE LE EndDate ); ON TABLE HOLD AS HDICW00A END -RUN -IF &LINES EQ 0 THEN GOTO EMPTY_RPT; TABLE FILE HDICW00A
--End
I am also getting an error message at thefollowing line TABLE FILE HDICW00A 0 ERROR AT OR NEAR LINE 22 IN PROCEDURE ADHOCRQ FOCEXEC * (FOC007) THE REQUEST STATEMENT DOES NOT CONTAIN A VERB TABLE FILE HDICW00A PRINT
Any help will be appreciated

If not, I am wondering, can you please try the following code and let us know if it gives you any error message:
TABLE FILE HDICW00A
PRINT *
END
Here is the explanation of the FOC007 error message:
(FOC007) THE REQUEST STATEMENT DOES NOT CONTAIN A VERB The request statement does not contain a verb, and the heading, if any, does not contain a reference to any data fields, implying a verb.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Kerry

Thanks a lot Prairie & Kerry As you mentioned this stmt did not have a SUM or BY clause. hence the error I introduced a SUM stmt and it fixed the error
