I am creating a hold file which has an across field too. But when I open that hold table, it shows the value of the across field instead of showing the field name. for example: print min_recorded BY task_cd By Supervisor Across user_id ON TABLE HOLD AS HOLD1 FORMAT FOCUS INDEX TASK_CD
Now when I want to creat a report based on table HOLD1, it does not show user_id, instead displays the values of that field.
Is there a way to get the report display the field name, instead of values eventhough we use it as an across field? Thank you very much.
No, I don't want to have all the values of the userid as the fieldname. the Values in the userid will always be changing since the suppervisor is used as a parameter.
when you do an across and HOLD it has to create unique fieldnames somehow. you can have multiple fields called all called user_id. Unless you're doing the across in the hold file for some specific purpose, leave it out of the first TABLE and use it in the query against the HOLD file.
Regards,
Darin
