Hi,

Anybody can let me know the steps to do while upgarding the database to Sqlserver 2005 from 2000.

And also if you point me where I can find the documentation, that will be helpful.

Product: Webfocus 716, Reportcaster 716 and MRE.

Thanks

Upgrading from mssql2000 to mssql2005 itself is not a problem. The database and the tables in it will remain the same, there is no data loss.
Also configuring the eda server to go to mssql2005 iso 2000 is not a problem, it just works the same as before.
The only hard part is to configure report caster to use mssql 2005. I have tried to get this done and was successful after several attempts at it. There is a very good article on the ibi support site that tells you exactly what to do to configure it right. Take a look at: caster config mssql 2005
It helped me to do a successful config.
What the article does not mention is that you need a new jdbc driver that is suited for accessing mssql 2005. You can find this jdbc driver through the microsoft site(s).

Hope this helps.
