[SOLVED] MODIFY to Update a Record

Hi,

I am trying to update a record within a Focus table.

I have attempted to use the MODIFY command, however I get the following error on execution:

(FOC415)TRANS 1 REJECTED NOMATCH ONE
test@test.com

I know the entry test@test.com exists in the table. Interestingly the error does not occur when I search for an address that is not in the table.

Code used so far is below:

TABLE FILE email_list
BY ACTIVE
BY EMAIL
WHERE EMAIL = 'test@test.com'
ON TABLE HOLD
END
-RUN
MODIFY FILE email_list
FIXFORM FROM HOLD
MATCH EMAIL
ON MATCH COMPUTE ACTIVE = 'N';
DATA ON HOLD
END
-RUN


The structure for email_list is:

DATE
TIME
EMAIL
REPORT
ACTIVE
UPDATED

Can anyone help me out???

It looks like like the Focus file has
DATE
TIME
EMAIL
as keys, and the remainder are dependent fields.

You need to HOLD all the key fields; and MATCH on all of them in the MODIFY, and include an ON MATCH UPDATE ... statement.

Can you post the master file ?

As Jack says you need to match on the keys, the master file will show what the keys are.

Also, you should use EQ instead of = in the line
WHERE EMAIL = 'test@test.com'
