How to cause an Agent to flush BINS.
Hi in response to

I am going to build a test that relies on &BASEIO (I think this is physical reads NOT logical reads). The problem is that each agent will retain its BINs cache for the number of agent uses specified in EDASERVE (eg ours are used 100 times before discard). I could set the reuse to 1 but is there any other way that I could cause the existing contents of BINs to be ignored while performance testing?

John,

I don't know the answer to that but there is a stress testing setup that you can run from the Web Console. It is under Procedures/focexec/Run Advanced. I just played with it a little. Maybe it would be helpful to you.

There are two types of WebFocus deployment, Private and Pooled. Only if you are using Pooled will be Bins be saved. The issue of the 100 agent re-use is for Private deployment. Every reuse of the agent refreshes memory and resets Bins, etc.
