Hai, I'm new to Web Focus. We have to do error handling in WebFocus. We are using HTML forms embedded in the Procedure. So when the procedure throws some error, no error message is displayed and the page appears as blank.
Is there a way to display the error message on the page when some error occurs ?This message has been edited. Last edited by: Kerry,
You may need to give a little more information...If your query returns zero results you can simply add a statement of: -IF &LINES EQ 0 GOTO ERRMSG
after the fex add the following: -GOTO BOTTOM -ERRMSG -INCLUDE ERRMSG (error HTML page) -BOTTOM
Now if you are expecting actual stoppages in the flow of the fex that result in an error message...well I leave that to others in the discussion group.
I have been searching for some methods of error handling and this post was the closest that I found.
What I want to do is if there are any FOC error, I would be able to display a special message saying there is a problem with the program (using -HTMLFORM). The current post only provides when lines returned are zero then provide error message.
So I guess the question here is how can I differentiate between program executed with FOC error or a report that came back with zero records?
TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT
APPLES
ON TABLE HOLD AS H001 FORMAT HTMTABLE
END
-RUN
-*-- IF A WEBFOCUS ERROR OCCURED, DISPLAY AN ERROR PAGE ----
-IF &FOCERRNUM NE 0 THEN GOTO FOC_ERROR;
-HTMLFORM BEGIN
!IBI.FIL.H001;
-HTMLFORM END
-EXIT
-FOC_ERROR
-SET &FOC_ERRMSG = FEXERR(&FOCERRNUM,'A100');
-HTMLFORM BEGIN
WEBFCOUS ERROR FOUND
<BR />
!IBI.AMP.FOC_ERRMSG;
-HTMLFORM END
You can make this as simple or as sophisticated as you want. In my code, I have a -INCLUDE after the FOC_ERROR label that contains an HTMLFORM that's more complex than my example. I also test for possible SQL or other errors...
