While I've spent many years on the iWay side of the fence I haven't had too much exposure to webfocus. I'm trying to reinvent myself by exploring webfocus 8 in general and hyperstage in particular. I've installed the latest and greatest of WebFocus 8 developer studio, with tomcat and webfocus all running on my localhost. What I can't figure out is how to create a hyperstage repository, then migrate oracle 10g data into it. Any guidance would most helpful as this old dog learns some new tricks!

From my understanding, assuming this has not changed, you can't create Hyperstage db's from Dev Studio.

Hyperstage is a separate product. You will have to install that product before you can explore it, and I don't think you can get a dev license for it.

Correct me if I'm wrong IBI.

It was my understanding that Hyperstage was embedded in WF8. I did find in the reporting server console where to create the hyperstage adapter. I "assume" that this is the starting point for the db creation? I have the issue though that when I test the adapter I get the error message:

Driver\mysql-connector-java-5.1.18-bin.jar
(FOC1400) SQLCODE IS -1 (HEX: FFFFFFFF) XOPEN: 00000
: (-1) [00000] JDBFOC>> connectx(): java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: co
: m.mysql.jdbc.Driver
(FOC1405) SQL PREPARE ERROR.

Hi All,

I'm updating this topic with the information from the case.

HyperStage is a separately licensed Information Builders product which is a
column-oriented relational database by Infobright. This database uses a storage
engine that plugs into MySQL. Therefore, after HyperStage is installed, to
configure the HyperStage adapter, the path to the MySQL JDBC driver should be
added to the IBI_CLASSPATH to access HyperStage.

Hope this helps!

Regards,

Kathryn
